Welcome to Lake Vista Cafe, a delightful culinary gem located on the picturesque shores of Lake Monona in Madison, Wisconsin. As a charming cafe, it invites you to indulge in a vibrant menu that beautifully marries fresh ingredients with a serene lakeside ambiance, making it a perfect spot for brunch, lunch, or a sweet afternoon treat.

The atmosphere here is inviting and laid-back, ideal for enjoying a leisurely meal while soaking in stunning views of the water and the stunning State Capitol. Guests have described the experience as a chance to "relax with a snack and a drink," enveloped in a picturesque scenery that invites you to simply unwind and take in the moment.

Prepare your taste buds for an enticing array of offerings. Start your meal with the Hummus Plate, featuring house-made hummus accompanied by pita, crunchy cucumbers, creamy feta, savory kalamata olives, cherry tomatoes, and golden falafel—perfect for sharing or savoring solo at only $9.25. The Farmer's Market Cheese Curds ($12.25) are a must-try; these fried bites are decadently melty and come with a ranch dipping sauce that complements their rich flavors effortlessly.

For something fresh and vibrant, indulge in the Roasted Beet Salad with a medley of spinach, roasted red beets, and whipped goat cheese drizzled with apple-maple-ginger vinaigrette ($10.95). Or escape into summer with the Farmer's Market Tomato and Watermelon Salad ($10.95), where juicy Dane County tomatoes and refreshing watermelon create a delightful symphony of flavors, perfect for a warm day.

Don’t forget to treat yourself to the cafe’s sweet offerings. The Homemade Ice Cream or Sorbet of the Day ($3.25) is a perfect way to cool down, while the rich, gooey Brownie ($2.75) invites you to indulge a bit further. There’s a little something for everyone, ensuring that your dining experience here is as sweet as the views.

Guests have raved about not just the food but also the setting. "We were very impressed with the view & the food!" said one satisfied patron, highlighting the cafe’s dual appeal. However, while the food has received applause, some customers pointed out minor shortcomings, such as the cold bun on a black bean burger—though even these critiques come laced with appreciation for the overall experience.

Overall, Lake Vista Cafe is more than just a place to eat; it’s a beautiful, cozy retreat where every dish tells a story, and every moment feels special. Whether you’re popping by for a simple coffee, a light bite, or a full meal, this cafe promises an unforgettable taste of Madison’s lakeside charm. Stop by and see for yourself—after all, life is meant to be enjoyed, one delicious bite at a time.

We just stopped by for brunch in Sky Bar. Affordable French food sitting near Lake Monona seeing whole State Capital view.

We were very impressed with the view & the food! They have vegan tacos & salad, plus, beer & fries with a house-made vegan chipotle sauce. Unfortunately, we missed live music by 5 minutes. It was only on from 5-6pm & it closes @ 7pm.

Salad was very good and fresh. The black bean burger was good except for the bun (it was cold and not that good). It was a little pricey for what you get but it’s not bad for the city.
